I shouted at my kids on the weekend

I shouted at my kids on the weekend. My dh was working long hours. They are 3.5. I was pre menstrual and I'm starting a new job after 3 years as a sahm (I have been part time for a year). I feel so guilty - I love them so much and I just want what's best for them.

Children are very exhausting. They also need discipline and shouting at them is hardly abuse.

Unless that's ALL you did for the whole weekend you need to cut yourself some slack.

I shouted at DS too. I'm premenopausal, had only had 4 hours sleep due to DH going out and banging into every piece of furniture when he came home then DS waking me up at 5. I felt bad, said sorry that I was grumpy and we had a cuddle.

If you only shout at the kids now and then it's very effective at getting them in line. Please don't worry they have forgotten already

I’m sorry but you’re being a bit of a drama queen. They’ll be fine.

I used to feel bad when they were that age. Now they are teens it's almost daily. 😡😤☹️
