Baby's first cold

My daughter has a temperature and it won't stay down even with calpol it keeps going back up to 37.2 is this normal?

She is 7 months and this is the first time she's had a cold, I assume that's what it is and she's congested with a runny nose

She was sick when she was three months and we ended up in hospital so everything makes me a bit jumpy

OP, isn't 37.2 normal?

Jenufer · 04/10/2021 21:05

Sorry - I posted too soon. I don't understand centigrade, but this is surely well under 100F?

Fallagain · 04/10/2021 21:10

37.2 is only slightly above normal. An increase temperature is a sign her immune system is working.

Google the NHS advice for fever but at that age dr are only concerned if it’s about 39c or if there are other symptoms.

37.2 is my normal temperature, anything over 38 is high. It does sound like a cold or possible covid, maybe get her tested for it just to be sure. I wouldn't give my baby calpol until over 38.

37.2 is within the normal range, above 38 is considered a fever.
