Clothing confusing

Maybe a bit funny question but what type of clothes your LO are wearing in the autumn/winter?

My DS is almost 8m and I’ve been looking at the warmer jackets and things and I genuinely don’t know what trousers you buy so they will be warm enough. Jeans? Joggers? Something knitted? Or you wear like joggers and some tights under?
We have a pram cover for his legs of course but what type of trousers would be appropriate specially for the colder days?
Thank you for any advice!

I found tights under leggings or loose joggers great for winter. Also stopped the risk of losing socks or cold ankles.
Plus long sleeved bodysuits and a cardigan

I just dress them in normal joggers, jeans, cords etc. If it's freezing cold then I might put tights underneath or use a snowsuit, but I find its easier to layer up blankets or use a good cosytoes otherwise they are too warm when you go inside and you have to start undressing them.

I have been thinking about this too, OP. My wee boy is only 5 weeks, but my daughter was born in spring so never had to worry about newborn warmth!

For my boy, I have a fleece pram suit, thick cardis with hoods, and I've bought a 2 pack of thick tights from the girls section to wear under his clothes. He will mostly be in joggers, and those lovely knitted trousers that are everywhere just now or (gifted!) denim dungarees. I don't think denim is particularly warm so wouldn't buy jeans personally. Plus not very comfy.
He mainly likes to be in the sling or carrier so I was mostly worried about his legs being cold so tights, joggers then socks seem to be the best option.
Layers so when you were back inside can remove layers and then put back on when out in the cold again.so vest, tights, outfit, socks, pram suit and/or blanket, hat, mittens.
Hat, mittens and blanket essential and a cosytoes for the pram too! My baby is already feeling the cold and wind and it's not even single figures yet 🙈🙈

It's personal preference but I like to use either sleepsuits (vest underneath) with a fleecy or quilted pramsuit over the top and add extra blankets/cosy toes as needed. Zip up pramsuits are great as quick to take on and off. I also really like knitted leggings like Blade and Rose as they're soft and warm, you can buy a bigger size and roll the legs up so they last longer and then add socks/bootees as required.
