Anyone Ever Had To Count To One Hundred Not Ten?!!

I am actually proud of how I kept calm today but my God, DD12 was seriously baiting me on the way home! Stuff is going on for her, I do understand, but good old Mum gets it in the neck because she’s had a bad day at school. She really knows how to push my buttons! I just kept repeating “ I’m not doing this” then walked away & stroked the rabbits! They have been great therapy many a time! I want my sweet 5 year old back who thought I was the best most beautiful Mum in the world! Well, most of the time!

That sounds really hard. Well done for not biting back. I'm not at that stage yet so no advice. Hope you have a sweet moment soon to hold on to again!

This is not fair on you. Stuff may be going on, she may have her struggles, she may have hormones all over the place, but it's not acceptable to lay into you and try and get a rise. Don't get me wrong, you are a saint with rabbit disciples.

Clicked because I genuinely thought there were people in your lives constantly asking you to count to 100 Grin mind you that would probably be just as annoying if she was asking you to do that every day!
Sounds like you did great! Maybe some fake over the top crying (or something equally embarrassing?) might make her a bit quieter on the ride home? 😅

I suspect there were days my mum counted to 1000 and still didn't feel better. I still remember when I announced age 18 that I was going off to travel the world. Her response was "oh but I was just starting to like you again!".

She had 3 teenage girls to deal with and I don't know how she survived. Now we're through the other side we're really close with our Mum and until covid used to pay for what we called our "Annual sorry we were such utter shits trip". My dad hates travelling and she loves a beach holiday so it's the best apology we can think of.
