books for help with speech delay?

My 3yo ds still is hardly talking. At 2 it was raised from nursery and then placed on a waiting list for speech therapy. He then had 1 session months ago where they suggested the issue was his concentration as when focusing on one task he put all his energy into this, they signed us up for an online course. We're on a waiting list for this. We had a session of private speech therapy but couldn't afford anymore sadly. He does just said one word at a time for instance juice, din dins, apple when he wants something. He is also not toilet trained and we have tried and tried but he's not getting it. He is a lovely child outgoing generally happy and healthy. I feel like I'm failing him greatly and with his starting school next year feel we've got a huge battle to get him where he needs to be. He attends nursery 2 days a week and I work part time. He is my only child and feel like I'm letting him down.
Does anyone have any book recommendations which may be appropriate for any of the issues here? I guess mainly speech help is my biggest concern
Thank you

I’ve got an old copy of ‘More Than Words’ which I’ll send you. The advice in it is brilliant and still current.

My DS has s& l delay too. We bought a book called ' It takes two to talk' by the same Hanen Centre that did 'More than words'which we are finding really easy to follow& which provides a practical guide of how to support your child s&l development. You can find a lot of advice over here on MN Sen board too which I found v useful. Hope that helps.

@Annon12345 has his hearing been checked?
My DS has SEN and is not yet speaking at 4. We use makaton signing and PECS so he has a form of communication (this is under the guidance of SALT)
