Is this regression?

My nearly 9 mo old until recently would imitate - and try to get you to imitate - by dancing (shaking his head) and by bibbling his mouth. He'd also dance to music.

But he's stopped doing these things and responding if you do them.

He does copy (as best he can) sounds you make and there is a lot of back and forth babble. He is generally very happy, engaged and sociable. But I'm worried he's lost skills he had? Is this regression or is it just a baby thing where they get bored of something?

Sounds like just a baby thing where they get bored of something. He's so to young don't worry about it. I'd say he's advanced for attempting to copy sounds already.

They get bored or it doesn't get the same reaction any more so they stop or they're focusing on a new skill so stop doing other things.

Actually after posting this we were listening to the radio and he was bouncing up and down in his highchair so maybe the dancing has just moved to his feet!

Oh my 9 month old was clapping obsessively for weeks and now has just stopped! Won't even imitate me doing it. Assume he's just got bored of it and moved onto something else Smile
