Son invited for a birthday party from a classmate . This is his first birthday invite in England. Typical birthday gift budgets used to be $20 for classmates we don't know very well. Is a gift worth £20 acceptable?

I would say that’s a lot!! Especially for a class mate you don’t know very well. Around £10 would be more normal for class parties around here

As pp said. Argos do good deals of 2 for 15 quid quite often. 2 gifts = 2 classmates x
