Nappy Liners

I've been using terry nappies without nappy liners up until now. I've recently started weaning dd and am using Cotton Bottoms disposable liners. However, after only a few days of using these dd has a very sore bottom. I've been scrupulous about nappy changes and use metanium and so I've come to the conclusion that the liners are the problem. Is anyone able to suggest alternatives?

I use fleece liners and dd's bottom is lovely now. Just buy a metre of fleece and chop it up.

I agree that fleece is much better than disposable liners. THey don't wriggle around in the nappy and somehow keep baby's bum dry, but I don't know how that works! They're also lovely and soft against skin.

Many thanks for your suggestion. How do you wash fleece liners? Do you put them in the machine with the nappies?

Yup just bung them in the wash. They may stain a little bit, but now I use the "heavy soil" option on my machine they're lovely and white.

The Nappy Lady has washing care instructions (and liners for £1 each) here .

I bought blue fleece and made my own. Love im!!!! and they have never stained.

get some fleece, cut it to size and bob's your uncle

You don't even necessarily need to buy fleece... I've been cutting up old clothes with fleece lining or similar, and using these as liners. DH had an old fleecy jumper from top-shop that has made brilliant liners.

Actually I cut up an old fleece scarf - but it wasn't as good as the thicker fleece I boiught off the market.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I've made some fleece liners and they seem to be working well.
