20 month old always ill

Sorry I wasn't sure where to post this.

I really feel my daughter just doesn't catch a break. When she was born she was diagnosed with hip displacia and had to go through wearing a pavlik. Thankfully her hips seem fine now but she is constantly ill.

This varies from feeling extremely hot to touch but a temp within a normal range to coughs colds viral rashes and croup.

I can't tell you 1 month where she hasn't been ill in some way.

Doctors always say she's classed as a lockdown child and as she spent much of her time indoors that she hasn't built her immunity.

I understand this but it just feels never ending and I'm so worried I'm going to lose my job due to having to keep her home as childminders understandably can't have her.

Sometimes I worry there is more to it but I'm just dismissed due to the above.

How is everybody else's little ones doing?

Sorry to hear how tough it’s been for her (and you). My son is older, was 2 in May. I’ve been having similar thoughts as he’s always ill: literally week after week it’s something else, some things worse than others. At the moment it’s gastro bug. Last week conjunctivitis (still ongoing), week before hand foot and mouth. Then lots of random fevers, colds etc, endless covid tests and time off work waiting for results. Really feel your pain. I’ve been on to the doctors and reassured to an extent, backed up nursery confirming outbreaks of this and that.

I think it’s been a lot worse because of lockdown, they have been protected from alot of bugs for a long time now it’s like an onslaught of them.

Same here! It's exhausting and so sad seeing then suffer every other week with another bug or cold. My DS has just turned two and has been ill on a refilled cycle since he started nursery a year ago, I really hoped it would ease up by now!

Constant cycle, not refilled sorry!
