Looking for one that will catch the wees and poo!

We have the shnuggle mat at home which is good for doing just this as it has a high sides and completely wipeable, but have found ‘normal’ fold up travel mats are no good when out and about with my 6 week DS who has a special knack for doing the most impressive wees/ poos when he feels the air on him that manage to go pretty much everywhere!! I ask as we are due to stay in a hotel in a few weeks and I don’t really want to have to lug the shnuggle with us, but not sure how else we are supposed to do changing without causing a big mess?? Confused

For catching wees, I used to have some old flannels that I put over DS's willy as soon as I took the nappy off - so they soaked up the wee caused by fresh air exposure 😳

Can't help on poos though as that didn't happen to us - would a bit of an old table cloth do? To go under the change mat? Ideally you want stuff that folds up small.

What about using puppy training pads (got mine from b&m) to soak up any spillage? I bought them when my cat was going through a phase of weeing with her bum out the cat flap, and dug them out to use in case my waters broke in the car. They are just like the ones the used in hospital, so you could dispose of in a nappy bag after use.

Any travel mat with sides would be bulky I imagine.

Try searching for a Tots Bots Happy Mat. Quite big when rolled out.
Lots of reusable nappy companies do changing mats - have a look on the nappy gurus website to browse some.

Ikea do a large waterproof mat called Len, we have 5 and use them everywhere! There's no padding sp they're more use on a bed or carpeted floor, but i also there them over the fold down changing tables when we're out and about it swimming. Just they're them in the wash off they get peed on.

£4 and folds down small enough to fit into a changing bag easily.
