Honestly, don't bother. He will have no idea what's going on and it will just be you opening a load of extra stuff. Save it a couple of years till he has an idea of what it is, it will bring far more pleasure.

First Christmas bauble
Happy land Christmas figures if you can find them

(Its not for the baby, its for the parents... and any older siblings that want to know what santa brought baby!)

(Also... come to the Christmas board. Lots of present ideas there)

Since he’s so young he’s as likely to get enjoyment just from rummaging in the stocking as he is from any actual gifts. I’d therefore make it a sensory activity - things like a jingly bell rattle, something squishy like a stress ball (make sure it’s not one he could bite through), colourful tinsel, a sparkly (unbreakable!) bauble, a clementine if he eats them. That way the whole thing is an experience for him.

DS2 was 6 months at xmas last year and got a stocking otherwise 5YO DS1 would have wondered why he didn't.

in it there was
a Nuby Watering Can
a personalised cutlery set
a santa bear
a candy cane (which big brother was allowed to eat)
and a toothbrush

We just did a main present, a Nectar points present and a present from his brother!

lobsteroll · 23/09/2021 14:12

I did weaning things as mine were slightly younger so just put things in that I was going to buy anyway - cutlery sets; silicone sucky plate, silicone bibs with a little scoop on the bottom, baby snacks etc

A copy of The Night Before Christmas to read every Christmas Eve. Write a little message in it for him.

Christmas bells (think I got some from primark for like £3), Christmas bib, Christmas bauble, Christmas cup/plate etc. Things he can use Christmas Day basically.

leonaaaa · 23/09/2021 15:17

Aww these are really cute good ideas thank you everyone xo

An idea I got from MN - a personalised bauble, and take a picture of them every year with their bauble as you decorate the tree.

MonkeysSwiningFromTheTrees · 23/09/2021 15:41

You need chocolate coins(although just a few, not a whole pack for 8 month old) socks and a satsuma.
It's the law. Grin

Other than that, at that age it was stuff they needed, cup, cutlery, bib. Small bath toys. Small sensory ball maybe.

😂 this is brilliant thank you ever so much! x
