Teeth disappearing?!

My 13 month old DD has really suffered with teething, far more than my 4 year old ever did. The first 4 were not too bad, but since then she has really struggled. Each tooth seems to take weeks! Broken sleep, miserable in the day, chewing her little fingers. I can start to feel the tooth with my finger, and then it goes away. Then comes back again - it has been like this for most of her teeth. Her pre-molars have come in, and the last one was sharp, almost cutting my finger yesterday, but today it has gone, and her gum is smooth!

Does anyone else have any experience of this?

I know this is an old thread but I'm in the same boat - my 7mo has had bumps in his bottom gum for weeks but when I did my daily feel this morning they seem to have gone, the gum feels smooth! Is this a sign of progress or a step back? 🙈

The gums get swollen and can envelop the tooth when it just pokes through. As it comes through more they will calm down again. Try teething gel.
