Hello, wondering what next to me cribs does everyone have? Also do you find them safe?
Looking into buying one and just want to get one that’s safe and recommended.
TIA!

I've gone for the tutti bambini cozee - I haven't used it yet as baby isn't here yet!! But happy with it and it had great reviews.

I have the Tutti Bambini Cozzee. It is excellent. Very safe.

I used a snuzpod. I liked that the top was so easy to take off and take downstairs for day naps
(I slid it behind me on the stairs), easy to move and easy to unzip.

NotReallyAPrincess · 19/09/2021 23:14

I wanted a Snuzpod but ended up with a Next2Me which I didn’t like. Could have been our bedroom layout / bed height but it just didn’t fit properly and despite it having castors we ended up never moving it.

Whatamuddleduck · 19/09/2021 23:17

I had the basic model for DD, now 3.5 years. She slept in it (as much as she slept) from 4 weeks to 8 months but then out grew it. It was good and easy to take with us on the odd occasion we went away. Felt safe.

I’m musing on getting the bigger one this time (turns into a toddler bed) as that would save the whole changing bed thing and I never could reach into a cot bottom comfortably (DD is heavy!) which resulted in lots of co sleeping later on. She’s snoring next to me now.

It’s quite a lot of money for the bigger one but if it lasts well it’s not so bad.

It’s hard to know what to get isn’t it!

We've also got a tutti bambini, bought four years ago when it was new to the market and currently using it for our second child.

Pros: Unlike other cribs it's very easy to disassemble and transport (handy for us as we frequently visit relatives overnight), also one of the larger cribs on the market.

Cons: initial model had issues with sturdiness and used to tilt to one side, although having said that after I complained about it on mumsnet at the time a managing director from head office spoke to me and sent me out a replacement. They say they've fixed the issue with and this one is definitely more sturdy. I found it harder to buy fitted mattress covers for it as the tutti ones as stupidly expensive and the "waterproof mattress protector" didn't stop my son's vom going straight through on the first one!

Overall would still definitely recommend if you need to travel with it 😊

I love my Snuzpod. I didn't fix it to the bed, but we zipped the side down at night when we needed to reach my daughter and she only grew too big for it at 8 months. The reflux tilt was really handy but the rocking wasn't great. We could side it between rooms easily too.

proudwomansexmatters · 20/09/2021 04:09

I had the snuzpod too for both of my kids and I loved it. I only used it upstairs as I used the hauck sit n relax downstairs or the pushchair. I used to unzip it and reach across as needed. The original snuzpod is washable (it says not but I washed it no issue). The newer one is all sewn in I think

hithere5677 · 20/09/2021 08:37

The snuzpod is well worth the money! It's gorgeous and so practical. Both of my boys slept really well in it for 7 months, very safe as you strap it to the bed. Would defo recommend

helpmeoutttt · 20/09/2021 12:17

Thank you everyone! Just ordered the snuzpod! Thank you again :)

Next2me good, depends on your bed height. You can buy mine if you like, baby only wanted to sleep on me Grin

Elisemum · 20/09/2021 16:20

We had a chicco next to me, and now having it still for the second baby. All the cots mentioned here are lovely, chicco, tutti bambini, snuzpod. There is only one thing to note about all of them, not sure how important this is for you … the mattresses aren’t great quality, they are foam and polyester:/ they are of course approved etc and are safe for babies but the quality is poor. My second one is arriving next week and I wanted to get him a new mattress for the old chicco. I bought the little green sheep all natural mattress and wow! The quality is amazing, it is expensive (70 euro) but I’m so impressed. I’m saying that my first son had the original chicco mattress so it’s just a matter of what you prefer.

BrodieKD · 21/09/2021 14:32

For those who ordered the snuzpod - did you use the standard snuz sheets or did you find anywhere else that the sheets fitted?

Ihaveoflate · 21/09/2021 14:38

We had a second hand next-to-me and as pp said, the mattress was really thin/hard/cheap. It was also not very cosy in general and seemed vast for a small baby. We put a Sleepyhead inside it for her to sleep on (so shoot me!).

I wouldn't buy one if I had my time again.

MariaDingbat · 21/09/2021 16:56

@BrodieKD We bought direct from snuz when they had a sale, plus you can get cashback through quidco too if you're a member. Thankfully she didn't spit up much so 4 sheets and 2 mattresses protectors lasted us 8 months.

heyhihello · 21/09/2021 19:58

Hello, sorry to jump on, I’ve also ordered a snuzpod and it’s come back today, so I have to wash everything first like the mesh that zips on the sides?? Also seen someone mentioned a different mattress can’t afford one at the moment so how did everyone find the mattress that the snuzpod came with?? Thanks!!

Elisemum · 21/09/2021 20:21

It was me who mentioned the matress @heyhihello. First of all - if you ordered brand new snuzpod then no, of course you don’t need to wash anything. The mattress is also fine, don’t worry. It is not the best quality but it’s approved for babies and my first one slept well in it. I mentioned The Little Green Sheep mattress which I’m comparison is outstanding ( if you google you will know why) BUT it’s more of a luxury and it’s not a must- have. You will be fine with the mattress that’s included - no doubt.

thatsnotmyzoo · 21/09/2021 20:26

We had a next 2 me and I didn’t rate it, hard mattress and didn’t sit nicely against the bed. Lever on the side was awkward to use. I ended up using it like a standalone crib. The sides were part fabric part mesh and DS used to like pushing his face against the side, that didn’t feel too safe to me in case he pushed against the fabric while I was asleep.

proudwomansexmatters · 21/09/2021 20:53

Use normal cot sheets or Moses basket sheets and tuck them under. Buying specialist sheets is a waste of money! You can also use Moses basket sheets for your Pram too 😁
