Ds is 9 months and bald Grin it’s very cute so I don’t mind but I am conscious all his baby friends have a good head of hair by now!

My youngest DD was still practically bald at 1 years old. By 2 she had some very fine hair but it was still quite short. I don't think she had a haircut until she was 3 years old.

At 10 she now has very thick, very long curly hair. It just took a while to get there!

DS was born with a full head of hair. Lost a significant amount of it by 6 months. Itnever grew back until he was about 1year old.

Hullbilly · 19/09/2021 20:13

I think you should see a difference at age 2 maybe.

What does this mean? I agree by 2 most kids have a bit of hair. My friends DD looked like she’d been wet shaved all over her head til 18 months and then suddenly had a pixie crop!

My family all have bald babies, how they laughed when I was pregnant and bought baby shampoo. I didn't need to open it until he was 3! First haircut at 4.

Magicalwoodlands · 19/09/2021 20:31

No I’ve never had to use shampoo or the little brush set someone gave me as a gift Grin

He’s so cute with it I don’t mind, but it will be interesting to see what colour hair he eventually has!

DS is such a bald baby, he’s nearly 9 months.

DH’s family were all bald babies - DH & his dad didn’t need haircuts till 5, his sister was 7!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 19/09/2021 20:37

2 here, totally bald until then. At 4 she has masses of blond curls.

1stWorldProblems · 19/09/2021 20:51

I've had two - DD1 was practically bald for about 18 mths, whilst DD2 arrived with a thick head of hair. I have to say I preferred the bald baby - so much easier to keep clean - a quick wipe with a cloth and all done.

My twins are 18 months. The boy has some hair, but my daughter is nearly bald!
Her cousin had very little hair till about 2, and now has very thick, long hair.

MsFogi · 19/09/2021 22:16

DD1 was about 3 before she got hair!!

CharlotteFlax · 19/09/2021 22:18

Also about 3 here too! Now she's 14 and she's got A LOT of hair.

angeltattoo · 19/09/2021 22:22

I have just looked back, very bald at first birthday, tiny amount of hair for 2nd birthday, tiniest pigtails by 3rd birthday. Everyone said 'he' was lovely when she was a baby.
Here she is now at 8.

Around 2! Finally had a haircut at 3.5!

mummaelle · 19/09/2021 22:24

My daughter was born with a head full of black hair and it fell out by 4/5 months and didn't start growing back till 9 months
Now she's 1 and has a full on Afro!

KarmaViolet · 19/09/2021 22:29

Nearly 3! Once it grew in my friends admitted they'd been a bit worried she'd never grow any!

AGreenerShadeofKale · 19/09/2021 22:30

It stayed wispy until about 1.

AGreenerShadeofKale · 19/09/2021 22:31

They grew up to have thick hair.

Magissa · 19/09/2021 22:33

My daughter had no hair until she was around 16 months then she grew one curl at a time! A full head of curly hair by 2 and a bit.

Wtf?

My bald baby got some blonde tufts to the top of her head when she was about 1.

I don't think she had a full head of hair for ages though, maybe about 4!

AGreenerShadeofKale · 19/09/2021 22:35

With ours it's the photos coming up to age two that show the big hair days had arrived.

MarbleRunaway · 19/09/2021 22:42

My DD was bald for ages, then weird tufts. By the time she went to school her head was covered but it was still too short to put in a ponytail or bunches.

Now age 9 she has glorious waist length ringlets and everyone comments on her hair. She has never had it cut. It was a VERY long time coming!

BobGalaxy · 19/09/2021 22:43

There are photos of me on my 3rd birthday and at playschool where I have short, tufty, wispy baby hair. It's still really fine now unfortunately!
