Best areas for families to live in Glasgow as an international student of Glasgow Caledonian University

Hello everyone,

I am an international student who hasn't been to the UK before and is currently looking to move to glasgow next month. However, I'm seriously conflicted on the best place for my kids. Places with less racial discrimination and street mishaps will be suitable.

Kindly help guide me through. Any information on these locations suggested will greatly appreciated.

Thank you everyone.

Look at Pollokshaws, Shawlands, and the West End.

Also, pop over to Scotsnet (in 'Other') and ask there.

Thank you so much. I'll head over there right away. But what do you think of an apartment in South Ayrshire?

South Ayrshire l, wil not be as culturally diverse as Glasgow, Glasgow is really a happy multicultural city as long as you yourself want to mix. Definitely look at the south side of you have kids or the west end
If you are looking for a hip lifestyle. Whatever you will be very welcomed.

I’d also say look at Paisley. It’s not far from Glasgow travel wise, it’s smaller and very diverse. Also it’s a look more budget friendly than living in Glasgow. It gets a bad rep but I’ve lived in Paisley for many years, as well as working as an estate agent here for 8 years. It’s very nice and diverse and a lot cheaper to live than Glasgow. Although unlike with Glasgow avoid the west end of Paisley, that’s all I’d say.

Hmm. Thank you for pointing me in this direction. Although I've been looking for apartments in Paisley (especially because it's family-friendly and also budget-friendly).

However, getting an apartment without access to physical viewing is pretty difficult. Oh, how I have called, sent several emails, yet, nothing!! Despite having a strong UK guarantor it looks as though all hope is lost. My family is due to travel on the 5th of October and it's still so frustrating to be searching for a place at this time.

Anyways, please don't mind my ranting! Many thanks for your suggestion. I'll intensify my search around Paisley and others, hopefully, something comes up before next week.
