My baby has acne :(

DD will be 5 weeks old tomorrow and over the past week has developed what looks like acne on her cheeks. It doesnt seem to be bothering her but it's getting redder and I'm getting worried about it being sore for her.

Has anyone else had this and did it go away? Any tips to treat it?

Why should she google it??

What’s wrong with wanting to have an actual conversation with other parents about something? Are we supposed to all become mute and no longer chat with other humans purely because we have access to all the world’s information in the palm of our hands.

My daughter had baby acne too, it upset me more than her! I used kokoso coconut oil and that really helped but it still took a few weeks.

If you're breastfeeding, try popping some milk over the area.. although it will likely clear up regardless, it certainly helped my two!

I, too, always turned to MN when needing advice in those early days. Google can be a scary place and people who have actually been there tend to soothe me a lot quicker!

Fuck off. Don't be that person, by, well I don't know...not posting dickish replies

Because "fuck off" @ItWearsTheBatteriesOut is ever so polite. It would've been quicker to Google, that's all. Have a nice day

It's just the "ugly phase" as we called it.

They develop spots, cradle cap and gunky eyes all at the same time, usually just in time to meet all the extended family who make all the right noises but are clearly wondering how you gave birth to such a little goblin 😂😂😂

It passes quickly, don't worry

It might get worse before it gets better (it covered dd's entire head) but in space of a week it just all disappeared. Best to leave it alone.

My first born never had it but my second baby face covered in spots - I remember thinking breast milk is meant to be amazing and rubbing it in (made no difference) all these fresh faced babies and mine with spots! But it only lasted a few weeks and all cleared up!

Thanks everyone for the reassurance!
