Not this exactly but my first daughter had a fast growing mystery neck lump as a baby. The pediatrician was very worried and we were put in the two week cancer pathway for investigations as it was an unknown lump. We saw a few specialists at three hospitals and had a few scans, tests and a biopsy before they worked out it was an easy to shrink harmless under the skin vascular birth mark. So we really shouldn't have worried till there was something certain to worry about. We had to make a few phone calls to hurry on the process of being passed between departments and hospitals and I'm glad we were persistent as it sped up the diagnosis.

If you know which Paediatrician you have been referred to, I'd ring their secretary on Monday and ask how long it's likely before you're seen and make sure she knows that you're available for last minute appointments.

I seen a paediatrician and have been waiting for a scan bug in the mean time the lump has now gone, the paediatrician believes it is just soft tissue damage from the birth

Ahh really thats good he doesn't think its anything serious. My babies lump appears to be growing since the past few weeks did this happen with your little one? Am i able to attach a picture to see if the lumps are similar do you know? x

Sorry .. no help as such ..but same but different. I have a small lump behind my ear that I have had since I was born. I am now 42. Seemed big when I was little but now it’s not noticeable. I can feel it if I put my fingers over it though. Apparently just excess cartilage

Warman950 · 23/10/2021 04:01

Hi
You can attach a photo I believe I never noticed the lump at birth so I'm guessing it grew for several weeks it continued to grow when unnoticed it then started to shrink now I can't feel it, I will still have the scan just in case as.

Hi. Yes .. very similar. Mine is probably as big as 2 peas put together, but skin coloured and can’t really see it… plus it’s behind my ear. Best to get it checked of course though. Hope you get answers soon
