Restless baby

Hi all, my baby is 7 weeks on Sunday but today he has been so restless everytime we put him in his bouncer when he was asleep he wakes up or starts crying he only seems to settle down when he’s cuddling me, but I keep putting him down as I don’t want to spoil him. Could he just be going through an phase as he’s hardly slept during the day today and seems to be hungry every 2 hours instead of 3. Also When he’s tries to sleep he fights his sleep and doesn’t end up sleeping and he just randomly starts crying/screaming

You can’t spoil a baby by cuddling them too much, so stop worrying about that for a start!

It’s very normal for babies to not sleep well until held. I held mine for most of his naps until he was 6 months old, at which point he grew out of it on his own.

Can you settle down with a thermos and a box set while he sleeps? I always tried to embrace it as downtime.

This is normal but difficult I know when you feel like you want a break/need to do stuff.

My little one is 14 weeks and I hold her for a lot of her daytime sleep still. I'd rather her just nap anyway she will if I'm honest.
No rod especially not at this age .
Also mine won't sleep in a bouncer.
She will sleep in a push chair sometimes and in a baby carrier in the day

You can’t spoil a newborn and your baby is still very much a new born.

It’s completely normal for a baby of that age to need to nap on you.

Thank you all, I always thought if I was holding him too much it would spoilt him and I can watch a tv series while laying on sofa with him on my chest, he's now asleep he's been asleep since half 6 and this is the longest he's been asleep today
