Potty training perfect while naked

So I have been potty training my child for about. Week now they've been perfect no accidents except once, they needed a poo and diddnt make it in time, no problem.
But the problem is they're due to go back to nursery tomorrow and me back to work so I decided today we'd try pants as they've been bare bum so I put them on explained and shown how to pull down pants even got them to do it, I left the room to make breakfast and they shouted mummy wet wet. They done a wee in there pants, so we brushed it off said it was okay sat them on the toilet put a new pair on and five minutes later another accident,
I feel they're mistaking the pants for a nappy but how do I stop That as I don't want them having to many accidents in nursery or they get scared to pee etc

Will nursery allow you to send them in commando? We did this with DS and it worked well, just bought a load of leggings in a size up so they were loose so felt similar to being bottomless. If commando isn't an option then get maybe some pants in a larger size.

You need a stint in baggy/loose trousers or shorts before adding in pants ideally as they can get the hang of pulling up/down without feeling too much like a nappy

As pps have said, bare bum to pants and trousers will be tough. We did it as three stages and actually stayed without pants under loose trousers for 7 weeks or so. Would have been less but we had a week away and that was a write off so we had to do a reset. Once we introduced pants it was no issue at all. Nursery should be fine with it as trousers will still contain anything as much as pants would.
