Lymph nodes?

Hi all,
I will see a doctor as soon as I can get an app but wanted to see if anyone else has had this. My month old baby has little lovable lumps on either side of back of head/neck like swollen lymph nodes. I can't think of an infection she has. The only thing she has had recently is her tongue tie snipped but it looks fine.
Any ideas? Xxx

Don’t panic! My eldest had these from about 6 weeks of age and they were still raised months later. No issues, no associated health problems and the GP was very reassuring that it was a common finding and a sign of a healthy immune system reacting to something. My nephew had the same. Interestingly both had tongue ties snipped as babies so I wonder if there is a link?

Anyway the take-home message is don’t worry, especially if your baby is otherwise well and thriving. They are a frequent finding in babies and whilst definitely sensible to get her checked out by the gp please don’t lose any precious sleep worrying about it (as I did - copiously!!).

@Puddlelane123 thank you so much. I'm lying awake here at 3am worrying and your reply really helped. The worst time to find something like that is the middle of the night. Xxxx

A pleasure - the absolute worst time to find something is in the wee small hours! Fret not - she will be fine. Enjoy those precious newborn cuddles and make a GP appointment for reassurance when you can.

The GP told me they only become concerned if there are swollen lymph nodes in other parts of the body as well.

My baby boy is 1 and has had these since a few weeks old, his were linked to cradle cap. It’s so common xxx
