My df is with her two dcs all the time. Her dh offers no help most of the time and I've seen her becoming more stressed over time.

We had a playdate last week and she spent mist of the time shouting at her two dcs. They weren't particularly naughty but everything they did seemed to annoy her. At one point there was am argument between the dcs and my df left the room . She was shouting and it sounded like she was dragging her dd across the floor because the first time she wouldn't obey.

I have offered for the dcs to come to me for the day to give her a break but df said (jokingly I thjnk) so you're trying to steal my kids away from me.

I'm concerned that she's really fed up and not coping, is there more I could do?

Try and get your friend to open up. It sounds like there may be a deeper issue that's not even child related. Offer your support and just be open and honest. She may be struggling and the only way you will know and be able to help is if you ask.
