How do I stop brest feeding?

Hope I'm posting in the right place! Ds2 is curently 11 months. I had a tough time establishing breastfeeding and always let ds feed whenever he wants. I'm back at work now (teacher) it's not a 9-5 job and I am struggling with doing a morning feed and then nothing til 6pm and then I feed ds to sleep and if he wakes in the night.
During the day, my breasts feel engorged and uncomfortable by 3pm. I can't pump, I got thrush that way and ds won't take a bottle anyway.
Currently battling my second bout of mastitis, I had it last month due to not being able to feed ds during the day. I don't actually want to stop breastfeeding but I just can't keep going on with this pain.

I know just how painful that can be. You have my sympathies. How long have you been back at work? I'm guessing not long. I'm a few weeks your body will most likely adjust to your new feeding schedule and you won't become as engorged. In the mean time, comfortable supportive bra. And I know you don't want to pump but matbe if it gets mega painful, so warm compress or a bit of hand expressing. Mastitis is not to be taken lightly, I suffered sepsis due to it and was hospitalised. Truly the worst I've ever felt.

Thank you, so it is just a case of my body adjusting. F
I went back for a week and then had 6 weeks off so I do feel like I've been sending my body mixed messages.
There isn't anywhere to go at work either so I think I would have to do it in my car (warm compress etc)
Thanks for your advice.

I’m in exactly the same position, other than that I haven’t started back at work yet but am doing so soon so trying to stop before I go back if possible. I’ve had so many problems lately with blocked ducts and extremely sore nipples and pain when breastfeeding so am definitely ready to stop but now have mastitis too and seem to get really ill any time I try to drop a feed, have no idea what I’m doing wrong but really struggling with it and the pain, and it’s taking its toll mentally alongside the severe lack of sleep!
