Hello ladies.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
I have no idea what it can be, I plan to go to see a GP but I just can't get an appointment.
It's hard, and he has it there for a while.
I am SOOOO WORRIED and have horror outcomes in my head 😩😩

Contact your health visitor. They will see him and are able to do any necessary referrals

Hi, did you find out what it was? My daughter has one similar

Tanya95 · 27/12/2021 20:28

@Gemgem0810 hey 🙃
Yes, my son had a check up appointment after his hernia surgery in hospital so I mentioned it to the doctor because GP was no help 😡 and she was so nice and sent us for a scan because I was so worried, even though she thought it was nothing to worry about because it didn't feel like it's directly on the spine but rather next to it and under the skin. And she was right, the scan showed that it is nowhere near the spine but is only under the skin and it is just fluid. Lipoma it's called. They said we'll just keep an eye on it. If it'll grow or change colour, I should contact them and they'll remove it but probably when he's older, around 6 or 7 years old.
In my post I mentioned it is hard but it's not, it's soft. When I posted this, there were less amount of fluid so that's why I thought it's hard. But now when there is more it's very soft.

Thanks for your quick reply, that’s a relief then. My daughter is nearly 5 month and how you’ve described it and from the pictures it’s near enough the exact same, it’s not sore to touch and is not effecting her but we’re still gonna get it checked out ASAP.
Thanks x

Hello! I know this post was from awhile ago but wondering what your outcome was as well as my son has the same bump and also does not affect him to the touch or in anyway...

Hey 🙂
We went for a scan and it turned out it's only a fluid under the skin - Lipoma.
My son is almost 2 and half now and it's still there but it isn't getting bigger nor changes colour (that's what they told me to keep an eye on) so I am not worried.

Ask GP for it to be checked. I'd also take a picture with something like a penny next to it so you can use it for reference.

Oh thanks for this. My son has one and I've been googling like crazy what might be. We'll have it checked soon but I can't wait without getting worried. Seeing your reply helps
