My 5 month old WILL NOT nap anywhere but her cot. It’s creating an over tired baby when we’ve been out and about and becoming very hard to deal with.

I’ve been recommended the snooze shade.

Please can you let me know your experiences

Depends on your pram for fit?

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 11/09/2021 21:36

I got one but it didnt fit my pram. Id image they're great if they fit.

Wagglerock · 12/09/2021 00:02

We've got one we use for holidays but it only fits on our umbrella stroller rather than our usual buggy. Both of mine have napped anywhere (within reason) but it's not a miracle worker and still needed some pretty vigorous walking to get them to nod off, especially if they were already over tired.

Have you tried a sling? That was more reliable at that age for me.

I REALLY LIKED IT AND IT DEFINITELY HELPED MY DC SLEEP.

But I think we should both stop shouting.

CookieMumsters · 12/09/2021 00:06

We have a different brand, but it works well. It blocks enough of the world so it's boring and little one sleeps

DA1987 · 12/09/2021 06:59

I really like it, it’s always worked really well to keep our distractions and help my son sleep. We’ve just bought the pram version (the zips to check on them are in a slightly different place). It’s a bit more fiddly than the bassinet one but still works.

If your baby uses white noise to sleep in the cot you could also get a portable mini white noise machine for the pram so it recreates a similar environment? I sometimes feel a bit daft walking around with white noise going on but I’ll do whatever to get my baby to sleep!

thank you everyone - I’ve got a teddy that plays white noise so hopefully the darkness will help her settle more. Fingers crossed!!

They're brilliant! Especially the newer model one which is bigger. Also recommend their over travel cot one for travelling!

Good for keeping the sun off but it didn’t work for me at getting her to nap in her pram. If anything I find it upsets her more as she can’t see out. She does nap in there occasionally but I think it’s more me getting the right timing for her sleep rather than the snooze shade. That being said, I use it most days we go out as protection from the sun so I’d still recommend

Gorl · 13/09/2021 21:26

It helps my baby. He’s so nosy that without the shade he’s too busy looking around to sleep. The snooze shade bells with that.

Dunnowhatalltheacronymsmean · 13/09/2021 21:32

Too hot the other day to use sling so put DD in buggy with this over the top. Was the first buggy trip she's not cried on, and miraculously she actually fell asleep after a bit with no crying. No idea if it was the shade or she was just due a nap.

rockyIV · 15/09/2021 11:23

I just got one after my friend recommended one. It is ace and my DD loves a nap behind it. I take her for a run in the buggy and she sleeps the entire time. I got mine on fb marketplace for £5 so no big investment if she turned out to hate it. Def worth giving it a go!

Nannon145 · 16/09/2021 08:34

I ended up purchasing one and omg, life changing! She loves it. No more screaming and crying while we’re out. I put this on and it calms her down straight away and within minutes she’s fast asleep. Anyone thinking about getting one, definitely worth it!
