Our local swimming centre has 3 changing rooms, men, women and family.
Our women’s changing room is always full of Mums with their male sons up to the same age as my daughter (10) as they are in the same class. It’s making my daughter really uncomfortable.
What age is appropriate to have male children in the female changing rooms up to?
I feel like talking to the reception team but if this is normal obviously I will look like I am creating an issue for no reason.
I think the family rooms are less used as you walk through the female / male to reach them and as the Mums are usually rushing to get to the swimming lessons they just opt to stay in the closer area.
We have been using the family changing rooms as they have cubicles but still have to walk through the female changing rooms with her naked classmates to get out.
Just asking really for advice as to say something or look for somewhere with different changing options or if this is totally the norm anyway.
My daughter is super sensitive and very body shy at the mo as approaching puberty.
