My 10 month old starts nursery tomorrow. It’s only one day a week and we’ve done four drop in sessions - two we were asked to stay outside for, so he could get used to the environment. There were a few tears but overall it went well.

A whole day feels so different though and I feel like I’m going to weep when I hand him over - I could cry now! I don’t know what I’m asking, just need a hand hold I guess. Do I sound pathetic?!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It’ll all be OK OP. Both my DD’s started at 10 months for 3 full days. It feels so alien & emotional at first but it all quickly becomes the norm for both you & them! Don’t feel ashamed to be sad or worried, it’s perfectly normal & nursery will fully understand!

DD1 cried at drop off for 3/4 weeks initially but I watched through a window & soon as I’d gone, she stopped & would totter over for breakfast & be giggling and smiling! She’s just left nursery age 4 & is about to start school next week. I cried when it was her last day, nursery has been the best thing for the past 3 years. They’ve supported her & us as a family through the ups & downs and big changes from moving house, a baby sister, the pandemic! All DD’s key workers have been wonderful & she’s thrived.

DD2 has gone to a different nursery due to our house move & she’s barely cried at all.

Sending a big hug ❤️
