Talk some sense into me!

So my good friend is getting married in another country in November. It's only me invited. My DS will be just under 2 years old. I've never left him before and the thought of leaving him (with DH) for 48 hours is causing me huge heartache. I know this sounds crazy. For perspective, he has life threatening food allergies so it has just become "the norm" to always be with him. I know this isn't necessarily "healthy" and I need him to be independent. He will need to get used to me being gone sometimes. I logically know this but I'm struggling to book the flights, knowing I won't be in the same country as him if anything happened. He also still feeds to sleep and I feel cruel taking this away so abruptly. Has anyone been in a similar situation and all went well?

I went on a work trip to Singapore for 10 days when DS3 was two. He was with DH. He was fine. I missed him a lot though! I understand your reluctance to be far away. You don’t have to go!

@smallgreenstripes I keep telling myself I'm so lucky that work /a hospital trip hasn't meant that this has happened sooner and I should be grateful.

Thank you for saying I don't have to go, it's actually nice to hear that.

As she's a good friend and she travelled for my wedding in Italy, I do think I want to go. I feel like if you did 10 days, surely I can do this!
