Screeching 1-yr-old

Does anyone else's 1-yr-old screech for no apparent reason? DD has started doing it, and it's driving me mad!

She isn't upset or hungry or angry when she does it. She just seems to enjoy it.

Telling her "no" doesn't seem to work, nor does shushing.

Is there anything I can do, or is it just a phase she'll grow out of?

Mine goes through phases of this every so often - usually when he’s about to master a new skill. He always stops after a while, til the next time.

She has just started walking, so maybe that's it!

My 9 month old does the same thing. It's sometimes excitement I think, but often she just seems to be seeing what the noise sounds like!
