My daughters nan has 4 coldsores and thought it would be a great idea to share an ice cream with her.

I know this is a dangerous virus for really tiny babies but how dangerous is it for older babies?

It can be problematic and even dangerous for babies under 6 months, but by 12 no ths old, your baby's immune system will be much more developed, so please don't worry.

Extremely ignorant of your daughter's Nan though. I'd be furious at this.

It’s not very dangerous but once you’ve got the herpes virus it remains with you for life. I’d be very unhappy.

Selfish nan. Her granddaughter won’t the and her for giving her cold sores for the rest of her life

I don't think It necessarily dangerous. I'd be fuming though. I accidentally gave my 11 month old a Coldsore. We had to go to hospital daily for antibiotics for 5 days as he was so sick. It spread from his mouth to his hand which then turned to cellulitis. I was 8 months pregnant at the time. Not ideal
