Hello everyone,

I'm moving internationally soon and my very active LO will just have turned one by then. I'm dreading the journey there, I can already picture us with a screaming child for hours!
Option one is a two-hour train then a two-hour flight (we wouldn't be able to walk in the aisle because of Covid) in one or two days.
Option two is three five-hour trains at a leisurely pace (one train a day then a day of rest at each city on the way).

What do you think would be less awful with a very active baby who needs a lot of entertainment? Haven't travelled yet because of the pandemic so I'm a bit scared.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I would take the option with the plane journey included. It will probably be painful but will be over quickly. Just make sure you take lots of toys. I always buy brand new toys for plane journeys and give it to them on the plane. That guarantees at least 30 mins of quiet time. Lots of toys & yummy snacks & iPad with their fave shows

Definitely plane - get it over and done with!

Plane no question. At 12 months you could book your baby a seat so you have a bit more space for LO roam and bounce around in. For a 12 month old there is not much difference between a plane and a train and the plane will be over much quicker.

100% the plane!

Plane. One of mine screamed a plane down at that age, 2 hours non stop screaming. I was stressed and mortified but once it’s over, it’s over. I was most scared about the judgement of others but he screamed so loud, I wouldn’t have heard them anyway!

Plane! Get it done with as quick as you can.
Plenty of toys, snacks Etc
Can you time one of them for his nap time?

Plane in one day. Give yourself plenty of time at airport for wearing out purposes.

Five hour trains will be a lot worse.. there is no where to escape to really, a toddler can't run about on a train.
