Hey guys,

I’m interested to know when did you stop co sleeping?

At 20 ish months my kids when into their big girls beds and during the night one of us would jump in with them if needed.

When he stopped waking shouting for me more than once a night TBH. Night weaned without stopping bedsharing then gradually he slept better and often now, if he does need something, he then rolls over and says night night to basically dismiss us. Still hop in with him occasionally, and he enjoyed sharing a room in a hotel last month (just turned 4)

My DD is almost 5yo and we haven't stopped. In our case, we enjoy bed sharing and DD says she isn't ready to sleep alone just yet. That's fine with us, as we have a super king and we all sleep better together.

Umm you don't really want to know ... 2.5 for dd1, around 7 yrs for dd2, not through lack of trying thoughGrin

When I was pregnant with number 2 and really needed some sleep. Ds was 2.5 and we had just moved house so made a fuss of decorating his big boy bedroom for him. We used to get him to sleep in our bed with snuggles then carry him into his own. He was mainly sleeping through but it definitely improved once he was in there. If he did wake he just came in with me. He falls asleep in his own bed now too

2 with DC1 when she started sleeping through, but it was a gradual process and from 9 months she was starting the night in her own cot then coming in with us after the first wake after we went to bed. From 14 months to 2 she was only waking at 4.30am, would come in with us and sleep til 7.30. Since 2 she’s slept through in her own bed (3.5 now). DC2 is 10 months and has been the same so far.

Moved DS into a toddler bed at two to night wean him, back in mine for winter, then mixture of own bed and sharing from 8 to 11.

Wagsandclaws · 31/08/2021 19:28

Ds8 starts off in his own bed every night but somehow gets into mine and is snoring happily next to me every single morning ...

When he went into a big bed at a few days over 12m

When they started sleeping through. 2yo and 18m. Although even now I'll sleep with them if they call me in the night. It is rare though.

At 6 1/2 months when we moved him into his own room and did sleep training. I personally hated co-sleeping but it was a needs must situation for a few months.

8 months when it stopped working for us and he was waking loads and just wanting to be latched on all night. I loved having him close and would have kept co sleeping longer (with a sidecar cot) but his needs had changed and he was ready for his own space. Was a rough week to start with but he’s slept so much better since and now sleeps through at 1.
