Cold/Cough when teething

Hey all

Just wondered what people's experiences are with teething. My little girl is almost 16 months and teeth seem to be appearing thick and fast. But what I have noticed not sure if it's a coincidence or not is that she gets really snotty and a little bit of a cough when this happens. Her nappies are also terrible, red cheeks and the drool is on another level also extra whiney. I wasn't sure if colds/coughs are related to teething or not but just wondered about others? Please share! :)

It's pretty normal for them to get a teething cold. I found that calpol/ibuprofen/absenol teething liquid help and calpol plug in too!

My ds ended up with a chest infection many times, he was poorly when teething. I kept a diary to keep an eye on it because it was too coincidental.

My 5 month old is teething at the moment and has also got a cold, I definitely think the two are linked. My oh had a real issue with his tooth and got a sinus infection/cold so it must be all linked. Also teething makes them run down so also more likely to pick up a cold!
I've bought the calpol vapour plug in and that seems to really help over night!

@Fleetw00d horrible for them isn't it! Cutting a tooth is bad enough let alone getting a cold alongside it every time! Yeah saying that I had sinus problems when my wisdom tooth was kicking off never even thought about it! Yeah think I'm going to put the Calpol plug on for her tonight she was coughing quite abit last night. The doctors told me it was asthma but I'm not convinced and they can't diagnose it properly in toddlers anyway!
