Son’s friend

My son (age 6) has a friend who he loves but I struggle with the child’s behaviour. I don’t think he is very nice to my son. Examples: saying “I am better at everything than you”, constantly interrupting and saying “I don’t believe you” when my son is trying to tell him something, giving his assessment of my son’s sporting ability. I could go on. We gave this child a lift today and when my younger child (age 4) tried to talk to him he kept interrupting and replying “I’m not listening”.

How do I deal with this behaviour? I ignored it today but should I say something when he’s rude to my kids? I try to tell myself this behaviour probably comes from a place of insecurity but I see my little boys looking so crestfallen and I feel angry with this kid. His parents are lovely. Help! 😬

Thanks for your reply. I’m thinking the same about less contact.
