What do you do about high chairs with a second DC?

Having a dilemma as DC2 has just started weaning, she can sit with help but not unaided. DC1 is 2 and I still need the high chair for him at the moment as it’s somewhere safe to contain him while I tend to/feed the baby and run round sorting things while he eats - he can be strapped in with snacks or crayons, CBeebies etc and not get himself into mischief.

Other consideration is we have a kitchen island where we normally eat on a day to day basis, I’d love an Antilop with one of the blow up cushions but they are not high enough to reach. The high chair we have now has some padding but probably not enough to support DC2, and is horrible to clean, but is high enough for the island. Help! Any suggestions? I don’t mind getting some new stuff or spending a bit for an easier life but also don’t want to completely waste my time with the wrong combination of seats.

Just get the antilop it comes with a tray , baby doesn’t need to reach the island to eat anyway ?

All of mine were on IKEA “high” chairs from the time they could climb out of the antilop. They are normal designed chairs but a higher seat than normal. But if you still want to restrain him probably not for you.

Do they need to reach the island?
My 2 year old used to be in the antilop but we've just bought him a mini table and chair and he loves it. Does everything on it.
And just use your current high chair for DC2

Well we do baking etc together using the chair pulled up to the island, it feels a bit antisocial them not being on the same level Confused or am I being precious?

Has anyone used the Beaba Up and Down? Looks similar to antilop but adjustable height? Can’t find out much about them though

Just buy a 2nd high chair.

We had portable high chairs that attached to the breakfast bar.

I use the antilop and just put bits on his tray and possibly get a 'learning tower' for the 2 year old to help with baking etc rather than shelling out lots for a fancy highchair.
