Baby either inhaled 3cm cotton or swallowed what do I need to do?

Baby was upset for some reason, possibly tummy so was lifted out of bath. Baby had a meltdown whilst I tried to dry her. I noticed she had a 3cm length of cotton on the end of her tongue, probably from the towel. I tried to swipe it away with my little finger but she was in so much distress she either inhaled it or swallowed it I couldn't tell!

She's calmed down now, so she's probably swallowed it yes?! She's 4 months. Confused

Just a bit of thread? I’m sure it’s fine. She’s cough if she’d inhaled it.

*she’d cough

She was coughing a lot, but she can do that when she gets upset to... She's stopped coughing so I'm guessing she's not inhaled it as surely she'd still be irritated?
