Eating Sandwiches!

During a day out a few weeks back would bought our toddler (2) a cheese and ham sandwich from a local Morrison's. This sandwich she ate complete as in she didn't remove the ham and cheese first before taking a small bite out of the centre of the bread and then ultimately leaving it.

Now this was a first so we tested it. A week or so after we bought her a plain cheese sandwich from Tesco and again she ate it completely together. However if I make her sandwiches at home or even sandwiches to take out she will completely take them apart. I have tried different bread, different fillings (including the ones we got from the shop), ive used cheese spread to try and stick the two pieces of bread together so she cant peel them apart, I've used cookie cutters to make the sandwich more interesting (she's even had an entire Mickey Mouse themed lunch) but still she takes it all apart. I'm out of ideas!

Any ideas to get her to keep the sandwich together or shop bought sandwiches just better than mine lol Hmm

Does it matter if she eats it together or apart?

Mine is exactly the same. It’s weird isn’t it!
She also eats sandwiches together at nursery but at home the bread is ignored and the filling eaten (or fed to cat!)

My DS is 11 and still takes his sandwiches apart. I stopped caring.

Give her a deconstructed sandwich.

Bread and whatever filling. I wonder if she'll put them together herself? Reverse psychology

Long as she eats it, it doesn't matter if it's apart it separate does it ?

Just to add on:

I don't mind that she takes the sandwich apart it was more that I didn't understand why the shop bought sandwiches would remain in tack and my Mickey shaped sandwiches would get peeled apart by the ears.

As long as she is eating I don't mind how it's getting eaten. It's very rare she will have a sandwich in the first place.

My DC who’s a lot older still pulls apart a custard cream or an Oreo…
