5 month old baby with diarrhoea

Hi mums
My 5 month old is currently suffering from a bout of diarrhoea. He is off his bottles, has hardly had any today & when he does drink, he is clearly in discomfort. He is still having wet nappies but I’m worried about him hardly drinking...any tips? Should I offer water instead of milk?

If you're worried about dehydration abs he'll take water, by all means offer a little cool, boiled water.

Have you tried him with a dose of Calpol as well?

I tried calpol & no difference... he is still suffering & extremely unsettled this evening. Is it normal for diarrhoea in a baby to last this long?

I will keep close eye on him tonight & call gp tmw.

How long has it been now and did you manage to speak to the GP?
