Hi everyone. My partner and I are taking my one year old on a staycation in 2 weeks it’s only about 1hr30 from home. I’ve come here just to ask of previous experiences you’ve all had when taking a toddler away for 4 nights. My LO cannot walk as of yet. I want to know what did you do to make things easier for packing bags to go and also how can I bath a baby when we only have a shower.
TIA

We’ve been away quite a lot with our 1 year old (including multiple camping trips!) I was really nervous the first time but it’s lovely to get away, I just have a little wheelie suitcase that has all babies bits in, plenty of spare clothes but remember you can buy anything you forget in most places! We take our own travel cot and our white noise machine, I also take a little room thermometer so I know what layers to put DS in (but that’s probably not really necessary now he’s 1). Make it easy for yourself food wise and enjoy your holiday! I’ve always found with my DS he struggles to get to sleep the first night we’re away it’s like he’s excited to be in a new place! But we just try and keep his routine the same and he settles down. With regards to the shower, we just have a shower at home and use a baby bath in the shower try, you could probably find something that will work, maybe a washing up bowl?!

Take black out blinds, a night light and white noise if you have them.
Baby-proofing corner guards and plug socket covers.
Have a shower together. Take a bath mat so you don’t slip though.

Go with grandparents or other family members so you actually get a break too!
