My week old baby has these spots over her arms and legs... are they normal?

NHS spots and rash page is very good for this kind of thing.

Hand, foot and mouth?

Poor baby! My baby had pretty bad baby acne on her face only but I would probably want a GP to look this over (at a week old you can still call the postnatal ward for advice where I am) to ensure the correct diagnosis. Congratulations on your new baby!

Probably fine but with a baby so small I would prob check with someone medically trained tbh.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 21/08/2021 20:08

That looks like HFM but I'm no doctor. I'd get that checked out.

I would try and get that seen to by a medical professional, especially if baby is only a week old.

Any older siblings in the house with similar?

Highly, highly likely to be neonatorum toxicum, as long as spots aren’t also present on palms or soles as well as the back of the hands. HFM much less likely. Info below:

Caveat being, as always, to discuss with midwife or GP if any further concerns.
