Freaking out...too much powder in formula??

Hi I've just gone to make another bottle on the prep machine and for some reason it was on 120ml....I'm now freaking out that the last bottle I made was only 120 and I added 7 scoops of formula thinking it was my usual 210. So this is 3 scoops too much! !!!
I don't know for sure but it likely that this has happened. She drank about 3/4 of it about 3 hours ago. Should I be worried? She was fine after and had dinner and then another bottle before bed...she's asleep now and I'm freaking our googling everything.any advice please she's 6 months old :-(

There will be more educated and experienced people than me but I wouldn’t imagine there’ll be any real issues especially as it’s just one bottle.

CaMePlaitPas · 20/08/2021 19:29

You haven't done any harm OP.

boatyardblues · 20/08/2021 19:30

My experience of this cock-up is it just bungs them up if you use too much formula, as well as being calorific enough for baby elephants. 🤣 A one-off feed should be fine as long as you get back on track at next one. 🤞

She will be fine. A couple of times I realised I'd done this and I'd just give them a bit of water to drink. But nothing bad will happen, don't worry.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 20/08/2021 19:32

As a one off it'll be fine, we've all been there!

dementedpixie · 20/08/2021 19:34

Might be slightly constipated but apart from that should be OK as a one off

Jumperoo222 · 20/08/2021 19:38

As everyone said above, MIGHT be a bit bunged up but that's about it as only a one off. I would prob offer some water for next 24 hours in between feeds just to help perhaps?

Jumperoo222 · 20/08/2021 20:11

I'll do.that thanks so.much for the tip! Thanks everyone!!

Oh I did this several times in the middle of the night 🙈 with my first, I worried. With my second, I did not. It won’t cause any harm bar a bit of constipation possibly, shes 6 months old so maybe just give her a bit of water to wash it down! Is she weaning yet? She’ll soon put far more in her mouth to worry about 🥴😂

Jumperoo222 · 20/08/2021 21:11

Thanks so much...yea we've been doing solids for about 2 weeks now..just baby porridge and then smooth purees. That's so true about what else she could have/will ingest in the future! You guys have put my mind at ease thank you so much. Will be offering her water and perhaps prunes with breakfast tomorrow...just so happens to be the only pouch of food I have left!!

Don't worry: sometimes when babies aren't gaining weight properly dieticians ask you to put more scoops in like that on purpose.

Obviously never to be done without medical advice....

It’s just like you having an extra biscuit with your tea, absolutely no harm will come at all.
So relax and crack on x
