15 month old throwing food

My 15 month old DD has recently started refusing food and throwing it all over the floor.

She doesn’t understand no, I say it firmly but she just laughs and carries on. Is it just a phase?

Don't react. Ignore it on the floor, then pick it up after she has finished with no reaction whatsoever.

Yes it's annoying, but it grows old quick when they realise it's not a fun game to play with mum and they're starving an hour later.

Mine does similar. I now have two bowls, one with most his dinner in, And one he gets with a small amount at a time. Refill as needed. That way he can only throw 1/4 on the floor maximum at once!

My 17 month old is a thrower. Well, actually a dropper. Thankfully doesn’t throw it so far. But the minute she’s done, everything left on her plate gets chucked over the side 🙄 Its 100% a phase. My eldest was the same, I remember one day sweeping up the floor for the 100th time that day & having a meltdown about it 🙈😂 But it gets better. I don’t really remember when but she gradually dropped less & less! The food refusing is also a phase, they are just testing their boundaries. Mine has days where she eats everything & anything and days where it’s all on the floor. They do get far fussier as toddlers.

Just ignore her, pick it up with zero fuss. I do say a firm no if she’s particularly aggressive with her throwing but otherwise, best to not make a fuss. I’d like to say it stops them but it does make it less of a game!

My 20 month launches his food. He hit me on the head with some garlic bread last night ...it's a phase and it definitely does pass. I try not to react. He seems to be doing it to make his older brother laugh.
