Is there anything I can give her? I've got cal cough but that's okay glycerol so fine for dry thickly coughs but hers is chesty

Giving her some warm water to drink and vabour rub on her chest but any other tips would be great

My toddler has recently been suffering from a chesty cough but I found calcough was quite good anyway. Plenty of fluids to thin the mucus. Used snufflebabe vapour drops in warm water in a bowl in her room at bedtime (or calpol vapour plug in). A trick i heard is to rub vapour rub on the soles of their feet & pop socks on at bedtime to stop them coughing at night (not sure if it helped but she barely coughed at night!). It's a lot better now but took a couple of weeks to go really.

I was told that cough medicine shouldn't be used as it stops the person from coughing. And of course we cough to clear what is on our chests.

Have you tried calpol plug in? If you switch it on 30 minutes before bedtime then turn it off it works quite well.

Second that cough medicine should not be used in a baby so young. Try Snufflebabe and agree that the calpol plug in is brilliant for bed time too. Plenty of liquids.
Hope baby feels better soon.
