Tonsillitis hell!

Hi all, after some advice. I have tonsillitis and my eldest who is 4 went to the doctors and has been give antibiotics for tonsillitis too yesterday. Now my youngest, who is 15 months so obviously unable to tell me, has been extremely grumpy the past few days and has been sleeping horrifically. Tonight he has refused his cot the entire night and just seems so out of character. I'm reading online that tonsillitis isn't contagious.... but I always thought it was and I'm wondering if my youngest may have it too? I don't want to jump to taking him to the doctors because he doesn't seem unwell persay, but I'm just wondering can you actually catch tonsillitis and is it worth me getting him checked over?
Sorry if this all sounds very stupid. I'm a single mum and had about 5 hours sleep this past week with tonsillitis myself... my brain isn't working!

It could be. Normally id suggest giving him a dose of Calpol to see if his mood improves but as it's Friday morning and the GP probably closes for the weekend, id get an appointment.

Hope you all feel better soon Thanks

“Tonsillitis is not contagious, but most of the infections that cause it are, for example, colds and flu.”

From the NHS website. So if you’ve also had cold symptoms with it it is possible your LO might have it too. I’d get him checked out by the GP just to be on the safe side because like PP said it’s Friday!

Hope you all feel better soon!
