I am at my absolute whitts end i dont knos what to try! Its been going on for weeks and no matter what i do he will not sleep.
My 20 month old son is not sleeping. Happily goes down at luch time for nap then refuses to go to sleep in the evening. Ive tried everything. He used to nap for 2 hours. Ive gradually cut it down to 40 minutes. He still will not settle in the evening. I give him a bath, settle down in bed with a story every night and he just doesnt sleep. Not like his screaming he has too much energy. He plays all day and never sleeps until 10pm but then gets up at 7 every morning. I dont know what im doing wrong. He was in a very good sleep routine before. Please some advice would much appreciated as i feel its far too soon for him to not nap at all!

Maybe try dropping the daytime nap? Mine had by the age of 2.

I was going to say the opposite, he sounds overtired to me. My 2 year old still has a good couple of hours nap.

Thank you, it was my plan to try again tomorrow. I had tried before but come 4pm he gets really grouchy and wants to sleep. But will try again tomorrow. X

He sounds overtired. At that age they should still be napping 1 1/2 hours or so per day.
Sounds strange but they need sleep to need sleep (lol).
Do you have a strong routine? Tv/stimulants off at least an hour before bed, bath, book, teeth etc done in the same order?
