Sore spot on neck from milk

My 10 w/o DS has developed a sore looking patch of skin in his neck crease, I think from milk spill and dribble. I do my best to keep him clean and dry, but he clamps his neck down and it's really hard to get in all the crevices! I'm worried it's sore for him and wondered if anyone could recommend a treatment or remedy?

Thanks!

Breastmilk if you’re nursing or sudacreme if not.

Second sudocrem! Try putting him on his belly or on a rolled up blanket so he has to hold his head up and then you can get in his neck to dry it/apply the cream. Also when feeding with my DD I really had to tuck her muslins into her neck to stop any milk getting trapped in there iyswim. X

Thanks both - I've picked up some sudacrem.

I do try to keep the muslin tucked in tight but he's a bit of a wriggler! He also spits up long after he finishes a feed so I think that's probably the main culprit.

We have the same problem with our little boy who’s almost 14 weeks, chubby neck rolls which are super cute but hard to keep clean & dry & he’s a wriggler too!

We keep a bib on him most of the day as he also tends to spit up a while after a feed, Jojo Mama Bebe do lovely soft bandana type ones which work well if we get them well tucked under his chin, they are expensive but worth it & you can often grab them cheaper in the sale.

I recommend diaper cream! We like the mother love diaper balm it works great on any kind of irritation

I got a little rush of nostalgia for when mine where babies then. Remember having to tuck the muslin round dd’s neck really closely and milk still dribbled down her chin into her neck crease. After every feed I would take a wet wipe and wrap it round my finger then run it over her neck, seemed to be easier than trying to wipe her neck normally. She was awful for it but wiping right away stopped any soreness as the milk didn’t have time to sit on her skin.
