Really worried about my 10 month old!

I'll try to keep this short...

  • exclusively breastfed, breastfeeding now on a schedule during the day
  • has CMPA
  • still feeding at night. When she wants a feed she will not settle without one. I went out last night and poor DH (and poor baby) had a 1hr 45 min crying fit.
  • usually self settles but needs me to lay her down
  • naps are sometimes only one cycle and then she is v tired.

I go back to work at the start of Sept. I'm so worried about how she will sleep and how she will manage without her 2 breastfeeds in the day..I did gradual retreat with my son and that worked amazingly but I don't feel I can do that if she is still feeding at night.

I'm so worried about her sleep and her nutrition. Any advice?

Sounds pretty normal for a bf 10 month old. DD1 was ff as she would be the same at that point but for formula and still just want me and not DH. DD2 is 2 years old and often still wakes for boob.

In September are you working nights or just days? And who is looking after her? Nurseries have some weird magic to get babies to sleep. Nutritionally she will be fine but she may try and make up for it later. After 12 months you can start offering Alpro growing up milk if she can tolerate it or Oatley Barista as a drink. I believe there is a coconut milk which is suitable too.

I'm working days and we have a nanny starting (not cos we are loaded by a long stretch but because I'm so nervous of leaving her). Im just so worried about how she is going to get her to sleep while my 3 year old maurauds downstairs.

I went back to work full time when my eldest was 9.5 months old. He was breastfed, and despite my efforts, had never taken milk from a bottle, cup or any other receptacle!

He was totally fine. He managed to sleep during the day with just his dummy and a cuddle, and refused any milk. He would feed as soon as I got in and we carried on until he was 18months.

That's reassuring. I was so much more ready with DS. I'm so nervous.

She'll be fine - can still have an evening feed for a while...

Yes I'll keep the morning and evening feed (and all the bloody night ones....)
