How much does your eight month old eat?

Mine eats barely a thing. He might have a bite or a taste of something but then starts crying. I’m also a bit worried he doesn’t drink any water.

Mine was the same at this age. Ate pretty much nothing as would just put it in her mouth and spit it out again. Would also have just one or two tiny sips of water with meals. She's now 11 months and is doing SO much better with both food and water. I think it just takes some of them longer so I wouldn't worry yet.

I think I’ll leave it for a month then. Try again at nine months.

DS2 ate quite a lot at that age. The trick is not to stress about how much they eat, just keep offering. Maybe he's just not hungry?

Mine has an enormous appetite, but other 8 month olds I know eat like birds. I wouldn’t worry too much - keep offering and he’ll get the hang of it soon enough.
