Is my toddler snacking too much?

My DS (16 months) ate a whole packet of these this afternoon, plus 3 strawberries and two rice cakes.

Surely that’s too much for an afternoon snack? I only wanted to give him 5/6 of the sticks but he was shouting for more!

He loves his food and has three healthy meals a day. Should I try to cut down on the snacks?

@LegoCaltrops we've never given snacks to either of ours 🤷‍♀️ I never understood the recommendation to give snacks, nursery gp ge snacks though.

We're all different some people need to graze some only eat twice a day. I found my son was saying he was full after eating at meal times but asking for food again mid afternoon (later lunches didn't help as he'd be hungry mid morning) so he has 3 meals plus a snack (plus morning, nap and bedtime milk feeds!). He always eats at the table and we do tell him out with these times that "we'll eat again in an hour or 30 minutes" etc.
He's never forced to "finish his meal" completely self regulated and perfectly in proportion.

@LazyYogi I don't think there's anything wrong with giving snacks, I just don't understand the recommendation to give snacks at 1. Most sites and toddler advice etc seems to say they actually need snacks. I've never bothered with either of mine. First wouldn't drink milk either but the second has a drink of milk before afternoon nap. My first was a rubbish eater so I didn't want to ruin his appetite.
