Nutramigen Clear Vomit

Baby had been prescribed Nutramigen about a month ago now and has been doing fine but has still been very refluxy and bringing up clear vomit, the past week it has been clear projectile vomit. I'm coming to my wits ends now as I've had non stop problem with my baby feeding since she was three weeks old. I can't remember the last time I spoke to a HV and I know the last time I did she didn't even know who I was or that I gave birth. So I basically rely on the drs but get shoved away that it's just reflux there's nothing they can do. She's been on gaviscon and omeprazole. They don't work. I'm thinking of starting to wean her early because she's badly refluxy. Has anyone else had the same situation what would you do in this situation??

I'd like to mention she's 4months and 1 week old.

Honestly I wouldn’t bother to wean early. I weaned at 5 months on paediatrician advice and it actually made my DD’s reflux worse, not better.

Have you tried a milk thickener like carobel?

I tried to talk to a dr about carobel powder and he was really passive aggressive and said there was no point and they don't prescribe it. But I work in a pharmacy and know that they do. But I didn't argue it back with him and wish I did.

I think my best bet is to go buy it from a pharmacy and go against the drs advice because he didn't seem very helpfulConfused

Carobel is magic stuff - that and ranitidine (no longer prescribed) held DD’s reflux at bay until I weaned her early under paed advice. Upon weaning she was MUCH more comfortable, though still sicky until she could walk.

If it helps, she’ll be three in November and I don’t think she’s been sick, even with a bug, since about 18 months. It does end.

My LG 7 weeks has reflux throws up after virtually every bottle. we kept her upright for 30mins pace fed etc you name it we tried it to no avail! She’s currently taking 4oz a feed we put 1/2 scoop of carobel in her milk only been on it from today but my god what a difference she’s been sick twice! And only a small amount compared bringing what did seem like the whole bottle back up before. I’m hoping this carobel helps. She’s still fussy crying and a bit unsettled but nothing compared to usual. Very early days so I’m cautiously optimistic x
