4 week old turning horizontal in crib - problem?

We have a Tutti Bambini Cozee in our bedroom set up with one side open (strapped to the bed of course). When we go to sleep I put him in the feet to foot position, with his body running along the long side of the crib, but the last two nights whenever he stirs and I wake up he’s moved to be laying horizontally with his body across the short end of the crib! His head is always on the side of the bed. He only just about fits length ways. Is this safe/anything to worry about?!

I can't advise on whether it's anything to worry about but newborn DD would do this and preferred to be wedges in short ways when she was tiny? Maybe a space comfort thing like the womb? She still does this now in her big cot at 11months!

When I say head on the side of the bed, I don’t mean he’s lifted his head up and out onto our bed, I mean that his head is always positioned in his crib on the side of the crib that’s closest to our bed - so laying in the same direction each time.

@GalaxyGirl24 that makes sense. It’s just surprised me as I didn’t know he could move himself like that!

My DD was also quite a wriggler at that age! He may be one of these who rolls early like mine too, we were just told to keep an eye if swaddled in that case , don't want him flipping over with their arms tucked up! Also, congratulations to you on your new baby! 🎉

@GalaxyGirl24 thanks for your reply 😊 oh that’s a good point! He’s sleeping in the love to dream swaddles, so maybe thAt would be ok with rolling as is in an arms up position!

He's trying to get closer to you!

@JovialNickname Awh, that thought did enter my mind 🥰
